TVA has begun its annual drawdown of the water in Norris Lake. Fortunately, this year’s drawdown began relatively late in the season, and its appears to be occurring at a slow, relatively-gradual rate. If the current rate of drawdown continues, the Marina should be open through the end of September. Accordingly, we plan to leave Boats 3 and 4 in service until Saturday, September 29th – unless the lake level falls to 1008 feet (above mean sea level) before then.
Boat 1 has been removed from service due to mechanical breakdown and will not be made available until next Spring. Boat 2 will be placed into Winter storage on Monday afternoon, September 3rd (Labor Day). Please do not reserve Boat 2 for any period after Monday morning, September 3rd. In addition, the pedal boats will be placed into storage on Monday, September 3rd.
If you have a private watercraft in the Marina, please keep watch on the water level. The current level is approximately 1018 feet (above mean sea level). As the water level falls to approximately 1010 feet, the shore-end of the Marina begins to rest on the lake bed. Once the water level falls to 1008 feet, the water around the far end of the Marina will become shallow and narrow. At that point, private watercraft owners should make arrangements to remove their vessels from the Marina.
